Melanie Elrod - licensed esthetician, certified makeup artist, and the owner of The Bronzed Bombshell Beauty Bar for the past 6 years. I truly love what I do: helping women feel confident, radiant and beautifully themselves.
Before entering the beauty industry, I spent 22 years owning and running and dance studio - an experience that shaped my eye for detail, love for artistry and appreciation for confidence on and off the stage.
Originally from Greenville, I now reside in Chapin with my husband, Clay, and cavalier king charles, Bleubelle. I am the proud mom to four amazing children - Graham, Hope, Cely and Sarah Caroline.
Beauty, creativity and faith are at the heart of everything I do. I specialize in special event hair and makeup for weddings, pageants, proms, photoshoots and galas.

I specialize in highlights, dimensional color, women’s haircuts and hand-tied extensions — all designed to enhance your features while keeping your look effortless and lived-in. My goal is always seamless blends, healthy hair, and results that grow out beautifully.
I created my space to feel relaxing, modern, and welcoming — somewhere you can unwind while getting a look that feels like you, just elevated. Whether you’re wanting a subtle refresh or a full transformation, I’m here to bring your vision to life in a way that feels affordable, achievable, and uniquely yours.

Outside the salon, I’m a wife (married in 2023), a proud mom to my sweet 8-month-old son, and a dog lover through and through. I’m happiest when I’m moving my body and spending time outdoors with my family. That balance between beauty, wellness, and real life strongly influences how I approach hair: healthy, wearable, and confidence-boosting.
When you sit in my chair, you can expect a relaxed, personalized experience where you’re heard, cared for, and styled with intention. My goal is for you to leave feeling confident, refreshed, and obsessed with your hair.

I have had the pleasure of working at The Bronzed Bombshell since January of 2025. Melanie and Sara are very talented and dedicated professionals and I am enjoying working with them. Formerly I was co-owner of Gore Salon, with my husband Howard, for 26 years.
Born and raised in Columbia, I loved going to the salon with my mom every Friday afternoon and decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a hair stylist. After working in a salon for a few years I decided to return to school and get my instructors license and taught Cosmetology for 10 years. I returned to working in a salon and also worked part time as a Redken Performing Artist for 9 years. During that time I had the honor of working with some of the industry’s top hairstylists from New York to Las Vegas. I also received my Redken Haircolorist certification in 2014. Education and keeping current in my field has been very important to me.
I have 3 children and 6 grandchildren, from 2 to 21 years old. I also have 3 miniature schnauzers that rule our house. My favorite pastimes are spending time with family
and boating.
As a veteran hairstylist I love all things hair, from pixie to bob, color to extensions. I am enjoying working part-time and I am thankful for my clients’ years of loyalty and trust!
